Samahang Plaridel is now accepting applicants for scholarship grants for special technical courses offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to deserving dependents of Samahang Plaridel (SP) members and other beneficiaries.

Interested applicants should fill up their application forms at the Samahang Plaridel office at 3rd Floor Travellers Life Building, T.M. Kalaw, Manila with tel. no. 5233367.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), signed by officials of TESDA and SP last April 16 during the Kapihan sa Manila Hotel media forum, allows qualified dependents of SP members to avail of TESDA’s scholarship assistance in technical skills training particularly in business process outsourcing (BPO) and other industries requiring highly critical skills like call center and medical transcription, animation, software development, welding and other critical occupational skills.

Under the MOA, TESDA will be providing technical expertise in the mobilization and evaluation of applicants to be identified by SP in various courses under the Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo –Training for Work Scholarship Project (PGMA-TWSP) and other similar TESDA scholarship grants.

The MOA was signed by Sec. Augusto “Boboy” Syjuco, TESDA Director General; Adrian E. Cristobal, SP Vice Chairman and Rolando G. Estabillo, SP President.

Samahang Plaridel is the association of veteran journalists, editors, publishers and communicators. Philippine Daily Inquirer columnist Neal H. Cruz is the current SP chairman.
